    • Biography/history note:Adolphus Hardisty Lindgren was born on March 7 1828 at Canonbury Fields, London. He and his son, Captain Albert Adolphus Lindgren, emigrated to Vancouver in May 1900. In his spare time, he composed music and sketched in pencil and watercolour, both for his own amusement and that he might send pictures of his new homeland to the family he had left behind in Europe.
