• Local note:UBC Library has a copy in The Wallace B. Chung and Madeline H. Chung Collection. Includes 4 p. from the British sessional papers of 1849 "An Act to provide for the Administration of Justice in Vancouver's Island" tipped in. Believed to be the former personal copy of Chief Justice David Cameron. Accompanied by a "Memorandum as to procedure in the Supreme Court" (1 p.) and a "Supplement to the Government Gazette of 15th May, 1860" (24 p.) in which the court fees are revised.
  
• Notes:The advertisement in the Victoria "Gazette" for 13th November 1858 cites this publication as "The Rules of practice and the forms to be used in the Superior and Inferior Courts of Civil Justice of Vancouver Island". It has the distinction of being considered the first book printed in the colony of Vancouver Island, coming off the press ahead of Waddington' s Fraser mines vindicated. Cf. Lowther.
